Contra-Indications

Before commencing any session with your horse / pony, please consider the following and inform Casbourne Equine / Charlotte Lloyd if any relate to your horse / pony.

LOCAL

May require a routine massage / therapy session to be adapted around the affected area(s) so as not to further agitate any condition or cause any harm.

SYSTEMIC

Treatment will need to be postponed until your horse is fully recovered.

Acute arthritis and rheumatism

Hot / inflamed joints

Acute area of inflammation

Unhealed wounds

Torn muscles, tendons and ligaments

Acute traumas

Sarcoids, cysts and tumours

Undiagnosed lumps

Bacterial infections

Hernias

Early pregnancy

Diarrhoea/colitis

Nervous disease 

Fever/temperature 

Calcification around joints or soft tissue

Fungal skin infections e.g. ringworm

Acute viral disease e.g. equine influenza or herpes

Shock

Dehydration

Exhaustion

Severe colic

Any allergies e.g., sweet itch

Lice / ectoparasites (ecto meaning outside)
